At Signature Brew we make award-winning beer in our North East London HQ, a state-of-the-art brewery by day, legendary live music venue by night.

We formed back in 2011 during the craft beer revolution, and since then we’ve collaborated with more musicians than any other brewery on the planet.

We’re looking for an experienced, talented, and innovative Head Brewer to lead our passionate production and packaging teams as the brewery enters this seminal period in its history.

The successful applicant will be responsible for growing production of our award winning core range whilst maintaining the very best quality standards already in place, developing our range, as well as collaborating with the internationally-renowned artists who help define Signature Brew’s union of great beer and great music.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and ultimately accountable for the day-to-day running of the production and packaging departments
• Line manage production and packaging leaders including particular support on managing schedules and staff rotas
• Shaping the structure of the team with an emphasis on specialisation
• Leading the growth of the production/packaging element of the site with an emphasis on quality, scalability and efficiency
• Coordinate and organise any contract brewing and packaging requirements
• Recipe development, including finessing our current recipes and creating new ones
• Manage preventative maintenance schedule and ensure equipment is well maintained and spares inventory up to date
• Responsible for quality control, quality assurance, sensory analysis and managing the on site laboratory
• Ensure meticulous records are maintained and that the brewery adheres to Health and Safety standards (HACPP)
• Maintain standards to SALSA level and lead annual audit
• Maintaining relationships with key suppliers
• Lead relationships and operations with 3rd party suppliers
• Represent Signature Brew within the industry

Person Spec

• Head Brewer experience
• Advanced Brewing Qualification
• An aptitude for problem solving
• Proven track record of managing a brewery and a team
• Ambition to grow with Signature Brew, and amongst the wider brewing community
• An organised, self-motivated individual with great communication skills and a positive, proactive approach to work

Salary - £50,000+ negotiable dependent on experience.
