An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the company as the Taproom Manager at our beautiful Brewery.
Job purpose:
For many, the Small Beer taproom may be the first experience consumers have with our brand. The Taproom Manager will be responsible for making the taproom experience nothing short of exceptional. The Taproom Manager needs to ensure smooth operation of the taproom by making sure that the environment is comfortable, that the beers are at their absolute best, and that unforeseen needs are addressed quickly. It will be your baby to manage and grow, so ideas around consistently growing footfall will always be welcomed.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Opening and closing the taproom (setting up and closing down cash drawers, ensuring that the taproom is clean and ready for customers, restocking/ordering any necessary supplies/dry goods)
- Ensuring that the beers on tap are perfect to serve (temperature, quality, taste).
- Tirelessly making sure that taproom customer’s needs are met quickly and efficiently - always with a smile - great hospitality!!
- Creating and maintaining an enjoyable taproom environment (temperature, music, cleanliness, conduct)
- Maintaining accurate taproom inventory (glassware, merch, etc.)
- Enjoy being a beer educator as well as pouring a great pint/mixing a top G&T.
- Fulfilment of Deliveroo orders
- Working towards continuous optimisation of taproom operations
- Play the role of brand ambassador
Qualifications include:
- Prior taproom / bartending experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of beer, including basic understanding of beer production
- Excellent communication and organisational skills + exceptional customer service.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Positive attitude and calm under pressure
- Basic familiarity with tablet-based POS systems
- Ability to move full kegs
- Aptitude for and desire to learn the mechanical workings of taproom equipment in order to address problems quickly and efficiently
Working Hours
This position requires an individual who works under a range of circumstances, including: shift work, weekend work, working in the fast-paced environment of a crowded taproom, working within close proximity of an operating brewery equipment itself, and always customer facing
The taproom is open Fri & Sat and we host events in the evenings (typically Thu-Sat). Min 20 hours/week, £14/hr salaried.
Physical requirements
The Taproom Manager will likely be required to stand for extended periods of time when overseeing taproom operations. They may also be required to lift boxes 14kg and move empty / full kegs.
