Celebrate the Festive Season with Award-Winning Beers from London

Discover the Best Independent Beers for Your Christmas Gifts

With the festive season in full flow, it gives us great pleasure to unveil a selection of exceptional Gold-winning beers, awarded to London breweries at this year's SIBA Independent Beer Awards 2023. If you are stuck for last-minute ideas this Christmas, these would be perfect for gifting to the beer fan in your life.

The SIBA Bottle & Can Independent Beer Awards 2023 serve as a reminder of the brewing excellence found in the South East of England, and London in particular. The beers are judged by an esteemed panel of brewers, beer sommeliers, and expert tasters on various criteria, including appearance, aroma, flavour, aftertaste, and saleability, ensuring that only the best are celebrated.

Among the top achievers are members of the London Brewers Alliance, showcasing their dedication to brewing excellence. The Gold Award winners, scoring over 90 out of 100, include some of the finest beers from our LBA members:

  • Pillars Helles by Pillars Brewery: A delightful 4.8% Lager that epitomises the classic Helles style with its crisp and refreshing taste.

  • Halo by Hackney Church: This 5.1% Lager is a heavenly brew, balancing a smooth body with a nuanced flavour profile.

  • Tropical IPA by Signal Brewery: A vibrant 4.2% IPA that offers a burst of tropical flavors, perfect for those who enjoy a fruit-forward beer.

  • Roadie by Signature Brew: A 4.3% Pale Ale that hits all the right notes with its balanced bitterness and aromatic hop character.

  • Railway Porter by Five Points Brewing Co: A robust 4.8% Porter, this beer is a homage to the traditional English style, offering deep, complex flavours.

Neil Walker, SIBA's Head of Comms, has praised the winners of this year's competition;

“This year’s SIBA Independent Beer Awards Bottle & Can competition was our biggest ever, including seven regions of the UK and hundreds of individual beers. The expert judging panel only gives awards where deserved, so the winners listed really are the very best beers in the region and would make superb Christmas gifts for the beer-loving person in your life."

As we look forward to celebrating the festive season, the award-winning beers from the LBA members are not just exceptional in taste but also make for thoughtful and unique Christmas gifts. Whether for a seasoned beer connoisseur or a casual enthusiast, these beers are sure to delight and impress.

The London Brewers Alliance remains committed to promoting and supporting the vibrant craft beer scene in London, and we encourage you this Christmas to explore the best of independent brewing.
