Signature Brew Restructures to Secure Future
Signature Brew, one of East London’s most recognisable independent breweries and a proud LBA member, has announced a formal company restructure aimed at ensuring the long-term sustainability of the business.
Known for fusing the worlds of beer and music, Signature Brew has built a strong following over the years with its award-winning beers, gig venue taprooms, and high-profile artist collaborations. Like many in the industry, however, it has faced increasingly difficult trading conditions in recent years, citing the well-documented “unrelenting” challenges hitting independent producers across the UK.
To address these pressures and stabilise operations, the business has undertaken a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) – a legal process allowing a business to renegotiate its debts while continuing to trade. As part of the restructure, Signature Brew will consolidate its operations and work closely with creditors to secure a viable path forward.
Founder Sam McGregor commented:
This has not been an easy decision, but one that we believe gives Signature Brew the best chance of success in the long term. We are incredibly grateful to our team, customers, collaborators and the wider beer and music communities who have supported us on this journey so far.
The team has confirmed that both its Walthamstow and Haggerston taprooms will remain open, with the brewery continuing to operate under the same name and ethos. Plans are also in motion to refresh the brand’s core beer line-up and explore new collaborations.
