40FT Brewery Launches Crowdfunder to Support Walthamstow Expansion and Return to Dalston RoofPark

40FT Brewery Launches Crowdfunder to Support Walthamstow Expansion and Return to Dalston RoofPark

LBA member 40FT Brewery has launched an ambitious crowdfunding campaign to support two major venue developments this summer, marking its tenth anniversary with a bold new chapter.

As part of its next evolution, the East London brewery is expanding to the Blackhorse Beer Mile in Walthamstow, taking over the former home of the now-closed Hackney Brewery. The new space will serve as a brewery, taproom, and community venue, complete with a dog park and flexible spaces for events, food pop-ups, and weddings. The move brings 40FT to one of London’s most exciting brewing neighbourhoods, building on its existing reputation for inclusive and well-designed hospitality.

At the same time, 40FT will also be making a much-anticipated return to the Dalston RoofPark, the rooftop venue where the brewery first poured a pint back in 2015. The space has been closed since last summer and will now be revived with 40FT at the helm - restoring a beloved East London spot with fresh energy and purpose.

To support these two ventures, 40FT is aiming to raise £50,000 through a reward-based crowdfunding campaign. Unlike equity-based models, this crowdfunder offers supporters tangible perks from day one. Options range from doubling your money in beer credit, to event tickets and brewery hire, right through to bar tabs that pay it forward to first responders.

Co-Founder Steve Ryan explained;

We’re crowdfunding to help raise awareness of our new venues and offer our guests an immediate return on their investment, by stretching their money across multiple visits and venues. Dalston is where I met my wife and the Walthamstow taproom is where we’ll bring our family. Both spaces will serve different needs of the community.

With its tenth year marking a period of growth and reflection, 40FT is clearly focused on remaining grounded in its local communities while continuing to build on its reputation for accessible, high-quality brewing.

The crowdfunder runs until 8 August 2025.
